In collaboration with firms and partners across the region, KC Global Design offers programming throughout the year to elevate Kansas City’s A/E/C industry in four pillars of focus: Innovation, Awareness, Talent and Community.
Innovation Shop Talks
This series brings together thought leadership and group discussion to stimulate innovative design thinking across KC’s A/E/C industry.

Business Development Boot Camp
This six-month program focuses on the soft skills A/E/C professionals need to build long-lasting client relationships and take their careers to the next level. Through interactive workshops and expert-led sessions, participants develop critical skills including communication, presentation skills, emotional intelligence and problem-solving, all while connecting and building their networks.
“Share the KC Love” Intern Event
KC Global Design’s annual intern event, “Share the KC Love,” connects a panel of recently established design professionals with A/E/C interns considering a career in the KC region.
Following a collaborative activity that forges new relationships among interns, panelists dive into the unspoken questions of entering the design + construction industry, give advice and share their unique experiences.
Marketing Swaps
These events gather marketing professionals from KC Global Design firms to explore key trends shaping A/E/C marketing while sharing innovative projects that position KC as a top design city. Attendees gain actionable insights and expand their networks while learning how to effectively leverage KC Global Design tools to enhance their own marketing efforts. Previous sessions have included local media meet-and-greets and interactive workshops on clear and impactful communication.
FWD
KC Global Design’s annual signature event brings together executive leadership at the region’s leading design firms to celebrate the collective’s momentum and look forward to what’s on the horizon.
Educator Summit
KC Global Design firms will partner with regional universities to showcase the robust A/E/C industry and wide-range of career opportunities available for students. More info coming soon.
D7 Summit
Created in collaboration with the Center for Architecture & Design (CfAD), the first-ever D7 Summit in 2024 marked a new era in cross-industry collaboration, bringing together the seven leaders of the nation’s leading professional design organizations for the first time.
The leaders toured KC to learn about the region’s industry assets, then in a panel discussion and open Q&A addressed critical global challenges in design, including climate change, AI and inclusivity.
This summit further positions KC as a top design city, elevating the strengths of the industry, while showcasing some of the world’s most innovative design capabilities.
